Things That Excite Us This Week

Of course we're getting new things in all the time, but sometimes there's a batch of stuff that just begs to have its picture taken and posted on the Web of the Wide World. All of these things will need a new home eventually, so drop in sometime and meet them in person. For now, here's a quick rundown:

A pencil cactus that looks like a rabbit's head!

Little rosemary trees that smell so good.

Glass ornaments with various kinds of feathers inside.

Pincushion plants!

A fresh batch of lithops (living stones. . . see our August 24th post).

And a special variety of pitcher plants, Sarracenia Purperea. Beautifully colored, and they'll also attract insects and then catch and eat them.

Globes and Chairs

We want to let you know about some cool new things we've got in the store right now. . . old oil barrels from Africa that have been artfully rearranged and turned into chairs. Two sizes, for kids and grown-ups both.

And for all of you have been pining for the hanging glass globes, we have something just as good. Perhaps better. Handmade right here in Brooklyn, these ceramic bowls are very versatile. . . suspend them, hang them on a nail, or set them on a flat surface. Great for holding little accessories, jewelry, food, and they're just perfect for air plants!

Clyde & Wendy

We've got a couple new friends living with us lately. . . a gecko named Clyde and a morning dove named Wendy.

Clyde is on vacation from probably Florida or Hawaii and living in one of our terrariums. His is favorite thing is to sit atop the little orange fake bird and stare out at the world with his tiny suspicious eyes. He's difficult to photograph, but unbelievably cute in person.

Wendy is from the neighborhood but still unsure of her aerial skills, so she mostly putters around the garden trying to keep her distance from people.

We're also brimming with indoor plants at the moment, so come say hello to our pals and then pick up some new flora for your living space!
